Testing for official Bansenshukai belt rank is a simple, easy to follow process that ensures practitioners uphold high standards of performance, knowledge and skill.

Step 1:
            Use pay-pal to purchase the belt test for only $45.00.

Step 2:
            Click on the online test.  Email your answers to Shidoshi Damron directly.

Step 3:
            Send a video of yourself performing the curriculum requirements to:

*note:  each video must be unedited and unbroken to ensure a complete and valid test.

Step 4: 
            Shidoshi Damron will email you with the results and a critique of your written test.  If you pass the video portion of the test, an official Bansenshukai rank certificate will be mailed to you.  If you do not pass either portion of the test, you will be refunded half of the belt testing fee.  Regardless of passing or failing a test, you will receive a full critique from Shidoshi!

Standards of Grading:

            To maintain quality assurance, a standard grading scale will be used in determining a passing or failing test.

For written tests:   All questions are in essay form.  Each question will be judged on a scale of 0 (the lowest score), 1, or 2 (the highest score).

For video tests:  Video tests are scored similarly to written tests.  Each technique will be judged on a scale of 0, 1, or 2.

Minimum passing scores for both written and video tests:

10th to 5th kyus:  80%  
5th to 2nd kyus:   85%  
2nd to 1st kyus:   90%
1st kyu to 1st Dan:  95%
