This series of movements are some of my favorites in the jujutsu kata.  Several principles are shown which are independent of the actual techniques.  For example, we see how our taihenjutsu skills becomes practical while on the ground.  Another example is the idea of keeping your opponent in sight during the entire conflict.  The scarf choke and roll-over is a classic study in recognizing and taking advantage of weight distribution.

Perhaps the most important principle demonstrated, however, is the concept of using your legs as if they were another pair of arms.  Too often, we lose sight of utilizing the legs as we get caught up in our upper bodies.  In jujutsu, the legs become extremelly important.  Do not ever forget or neglect this point while you train.  You will find that by using all four limbs you are able to gain a decisive advantage over those who only use their upper torso.

Do not forget that these techniques are independent of one another.  The musha dori's are usually available in any side mount position.  Do not feel as though you must move through the kata to get these techniques.  While you randori, you will find many of these principles become approprate from varying positions.

I look forward to your questions and comments.
